Pouding Chomeur

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup room temperature butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups cream

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and mix until combined.
  4. Add flour and baking powder and mix until dough is homogenous.
  5. In a deep baking dish, add the maple syrup and cream, stir and place in a 375 degree oven until it begins to bubble around the edges.
  6. Drop the dough into the hot liquid and bake until done - about 15 minutes.
