Pouding Chomeur

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup room temperature butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/4 cups cream
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add the eggs one at a time and mix until combined.
- Add flour and baking powder and mix until dough is homogenous.
- In a deep baking dish, add the maple syrup and cream, stir and place in a 375 degree oven until it begins to bubble around the edges.
- Drop the dough into the hot liquid and bake until done - about 15 minutes.
